Good god, it seems to be the best advertised buying opportunity of the century! It is now expected that the pre-announce will happen. The surprise is on the upside if it does not. Lines will form as everyone awaits the two year anniversary pre-announce of July 15, 1996 in eager anticipation. Lehman clients will be waiting. Smith Barney clients will be waiting. Frank Capiello will be waiting. Not less than three portfolio managers who I have seen on the idiot box will be waiting. Most everyone on this thread will be waiting. In the meantime, AMAT will be humping its wares at SEMICON West next week during the show and at an analyst meeting. I don't not expect too long a buying opportunity if there is one. And there will be no rain checks at least for now.
