Cat,

OT - Government

One of the areas that you didn't mention was the 'Space Program', which BTW, actually 'spun' off the 'microchip' . Now let me see where that development might have been used! Can you say 'personal computer'?

Oh yes, as I recall the Internet was funded by the US Government to tie Universities together. Now let me see where that development is being used everyday - uh - Oh yes, I have it now about SI!

And if you haven't had the opportunity to travel to some of the 'third' world areas, I'm sure you would return to the 'overtaxed' US an again enjoy 'drinking' water and 'less polluted' air!

It is true that we have our problems, but after having been other places, after complaining about these very same issues, I thinks I stay here! The problem, IMHO, is that society has lost the ability to instill in some of the youth or some of those that have come recently or some long term citizens, born and raised here that in order for a 'free' society to work, people must learn to respect others, and be 'civil' in the case of a disagreement.

Doctors who 'rip' off the system, or those who stay on 'welfare' by their choice, or any number that comes to mind.

Regards,

Ken
