Chas,

Thanks for that article. What I found so amazing is that the PC100 memory, that is only available from a select number of suppliers, is readily available from Micron. They are now claiming 70% of their wafer starts are PC100 compliant. Maybe this will show some of the non-believers that Micron not only is producing PC100 chips but apparently leading the pack.

Now we also can see that a slight premium is being paid for these chips and lo and behold they are also inching up in price during the past few days to weeks. These increases will go right to the bottom line. Now in addition Micron takes over the TXN fabs for practically nothing and updates them in the same way its own fabs are being updated to .21 microns ...then what you have is at least a 50% increase in capacity that should easily show a profit over its IDAHO fabs.

Get ready for "About face upgrades" even by the likes of KURLAK and crew since Merrill Lynch has been adding to their portfolios at low prices while dumping on MU.

IMHO We may have seen the lows of Micron these past months and now may be seeing a renewed, albeit early, interest.

...Sure I am holding a lot of call options on MU so I am biased, but I think that with this TXN memory acquisition and stablization in DRAM prices we could see Micron testing the past high of 40's to 60's during the next 12 months.

TXN also makes out like a bandit with their 40 million shares by seeing it double or triple without doing any work...they already increased $8 a share or 40% since the announcement. The deal just appreciated to $1.12 billion from $800 million....WOW!!!!
