Leslie Eaton's piece on OMGD appeared on the front page of today's (12/5/96) New York Times Business Section (that's how I ended up checking out this group). It's not pretty. (Disclaimer: I've never held a position in it either way. Not about to.)

All I know about this company is what I've seen in the previous threads and the info contained in this article, but IMHO any CEO who defends his publically traded equities on a chat group (no matter how bright its members are) would appear on the surface to have at best a inordinate amount of interest in the short-term performance of his stake and at worst to be pathetically and suspiciously desperate. That makes me wonder "why?"

A winning CEO is concerned about the long-term outlook for his company. What wins in the end are good products, good management, sound strategy (i.e. the fundamental blocking and tackling involved in running a business), not hype.

On the other again you could argue that Rossi was defending the interest of his shareholders. Who knows.

As far as the future goes, I think the old cockroach cliche may apply here. When you see one, chances are there are plenty more behind the walls.

Good luck.
