that Time review points out the nature of these partnerships.

Looks like while QC and SONY are almost joint partners at QPE at one time, the sharing of IPRs are not equal. The "jog" feature that SONY controls is not shared with QC or QPE. I personally think it is a good feature, especially if these gadgets get smaller and smaller.
