Welcome to the Feelings thread, Larry. I read your comments in your post to Delbert, and thought they were very well written. I especially liked the part about whether my poetry is reminiscent of incense or grandmother's kitchen. Having spent my early childhoold enscnonced in her kitchen, looking out at gardens filled with lovely old-fashioned roses and having her vases surrounding me now so that I think of her when I pick flowers, there is certainly a lot of all that in me. I guess the incense comes from my college experience, which I never outgrew. The freedom, the ideals, and the actual incense still permeate the atmosphere here. I guess I'm a very old-fashioned flower child!!

You were really sensitive to pick that up. You'll do fine at the Feelings thread. It's really total freedom. You don't have to write any poetry at all. You can find some comment that interests you and just talk away. Even stocks can be mentioned, if we are discussing how we feel about them. There are plenty of feelings about CAWS now for example. I feel really sad, for example, owning some that I bought when it was at 17.

I was reunited with Briana, but she now wants to move to Idaho, having experienced total freedom after a San Francisco childhood of never being outside unsupervised, having arranged play dates, and an atmosphere that is stunningly beautiful and exciting but not child-oriented. So the meeting was bittersweet, and I have no idea how to meet her needs. Having a love of the ocean and wanting to spend my life on its shores, one of us will not be getting their needs met.

I suspect Sugar Magnolia was writing over at Ask John Galt instead of at Feelings because she was responding to an invitation issued over there to become a high priestess of the Church of the Three Garters, a construction of that thread which tries to lure women over for some wild sex party or something. She said no. I wonder why Galt discusses his feelings over there instead of over here, when he's supposed to be a rationalist over there. Very confusing!

So anyway, it's nice to have you here, Larry. Stick around!

Christine
