Ken, you're quite welcome. I think that we can look to the BOCs to start spinning off some of their less desirable business units soon, if they don't get what they want in LD.

There's a school of thought that says that the LECs would like to spin off their local loop action to integrators and other purveyors, and concentrate on [a yet-to-be-defined, in my eyes] core business.

Divesting such entities would serve to counter your astute argument, I think. I recall Brown making this point also, either in the Lightwave editorial I posted here last night, or another one in his series.

After all, isn't this what T did in '83/'84? At some point the process becomes cyclical. I think I can hear the axe and the blasting caps chipping away at the foundation, already.

Regards, Frank C.
