Industrial Ecosystems Inc. to Perform Tank Cleaning Services for
Nuevo/Torch

PACIFICA, CALIF. (Dec. 4) BUSINESS WIRE -Dec. 4, 1996--Industrial
Ecosystems Inc. (IEI) announced today that it will provide tank cleaning
services for Torch Operating Company (a Nuevo Energy company) commencing
Dec. 10, 1996.

The work begin performed for Torch represents an expansion and
diversification of IEI's oil field services.

IEI's chief executive officer, Walter Kolbe, stated: "The significance
for our company is twofold; first, this is a new customer for our oil
services and second, the methods we are employing are unique to the
industry in that they are safer and cheaper than conventional methods
and combine our proprietary technology for remediating hydrocarbons. Up
until now our services have been confined to soil based contamination,
so we are very pleased to add tank cleaning to our services."

Nuevo Energy operates oil and natural gas wells primarily in Texas,
Louisiana, Alabama, the Gulf of Mexico, and western Africa. Nuevo
purchased Unocal's California oil and gas fields for $516 million during
1996 which led to IEI's involvement with Nuevo. IEI, which has a master
service agreement with Unocal, will continue to service Unocal in its
ongoing clean up efforts.
