Susan: I heard a TV soundbite recently that claimed 70% of the profits of money-center banks were made on currency trading. It seems to me that if Asia can get a common exchange currency (such as pegging everything to the yen or yuan) they could keep the hedge funds and banks from eating their lunch again. It also seems to me that the profits of the money-center banks should go down substantially after the euro is operational. Any thoughts on the subject?
