The Well is very deep.

Corrected info: I had my solutions confused. The plug is to keep contaminants from going below the well into the water table. Sorry, but hey, I'm a number cruncher.

The straw example is something else. The other nearby abandoned oil wells will have to be capped when dumping exceeds 7500 per day. The pressure of that level of dumping can cause Class V to seep into those abandoned oil wells and rise to the surface. Thus, those abandoned oil wells will have to be capped..

So, three issues: concrete pad to soak up spillage above ground (done); plug at bottom to protect water table (waiting to be done); cap on nearby wells to prevent high pressure Class V from coming back up(needed only when 7500+ bbls per day dumped)
