Baldwin, the Clinton administration has been very friendly to mergers, and I can't imagine this one triggering any problems. Coherent is small potatoes, and conjuring up a threat of TLAB exerting monopoly power over the likes of LU is ludicrous. If they allowed BA to merge with MacDonnel Douglas (sp?) or the megamergers in the banking brokerage financial services sector, how could they possibly be having problems with this one?

My guess is that there are some i's undotted or t's uncrossed in the applications, and those issues need to be cleared up.

TTFN,
CTC
