I believe you are correct. The more traders/investors expect an event to happen, the less likely that event is likely to happen. I would not expect a major collapse of the stock market this year. Some correction yes, which would be good for the market, but don't expect a major down-turn. Our economy is just to sound right now, coupled with low interest rates, good employment, no war, etc. for such a major down-turn.
