Hampton Pearson of CNBC just did a piece on Y2K readiness in medical devices, hospitals, etc. Only 33% of 1600 companies selling to hospitals had responded to a survey regarding their readiness. Mentioned patients with heart-monitoring devices may have only minutes if their pacemakers stop working.

IMO, this relationship will expand considerably in the coming months as it appears hospitals are just beginning to assess their Y2K problems.
