Margie: Another theme at the conference was prevention, and changing behavior. Maybe negative news on therapy will encourage more careful sexual behavior and prevention. It looks to me like the war on AIDS can't be controlled unless behavior changes. The fear is that current therapy can keep the exiting virus under control for a large percentage of the HIV population, but if new strains are passed along, and prevention is not taken seriously, it may require more and increasing expenditures to support new drugs to combat these new strains. My guess is that the negative is emphasized to encourage prevention. It there was a magic bullet, behavior would not be an issue. Bill
