Kerry, I don't think Whitless was in on any scam. I think he visited
MU, got sold a bill of goods, repeated it in Barron's and in reports
to his suckers, er, brokers, and found out in a week or two that he
had been snookered. If you don't know how to do real research, a
slick outfit can make you believe anything they want you to believe.
With Whitless gone, MU's propaganda machine has worked on Kurlak. You
will notice that the Boise Bandits rarely try the snow jobs on the
few real analysts. The ones who believe the hypes are those who are
clueless, like Whit, Burlap, and Mr. De-Niles at Robertson. That
doesn't mean that real analysts can't get a different reading, but at
least they take a look at the hype, check spot prices, and visit Asia
before they offer their opinions. MB |
