I read the headlines that said orders would be below the $1.03B and came up with a guesstimate of just under 1B. However, when reading the actual statement, that assumption will prove to be too optimistic. See below:

However, even with these opportunities, the company's new orders for the third and fourth fiscal quarters of 1998 will be
significantly lower than the $1.03 billion achieved for the second fiscal quarter.
