You are asking all the wrong questions about Leyland. It really does not matter how nuch experience he has or what his educational background is. The CEO of my company did not have the experience running a company either but he changed a 1 million company into a 5 bil company, increased sales from under 1 mil to 600 mil in under 5 years, going up against more established and better capatilised and much bigger companies.
The first mistake VVUS made was the stock split, then moving one line to the new plant at a critical time, well things sure ran down hill from there. The only logical thign that was done in this entire fiasco was to use Astra and J&J for foreign sales. But another thing he did was he prettied up at last and set the company up to have a great Q3 to prospective buyers.
