Hope this doesn't spill over... ----------------------------------------------------------------- Look for the semiconductor equipment sector to get hammered on Monday. Applied Materials, the industry bellwether, warned after the market close Friday that fiscal third-quarter earnings would be much lower than the consensus forecast of 21 cents a share. The company is now saying that when it reports results Aug. 11, earnings should come in somewhere between 15 cents and 18 cents a share -- compared to 38 cents a year ago.
