Avitar to market saliva collection system for DNA testing
WALLINGFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--December 5, 1996--Avitar, Inc. (Nasdaq SmallCap Market:AVIT (Common Stock); AVITW (Redeemable Warrants)) announced today that it has begun to market a version of its saliva collection system specifically for use in the DNA testing market. The system will be sold for use as a component in the performance of DNA amplification techniques such as PCR, as well as others.
These DNA tests are used for the determination of paternity, the detection of genetic disorders, the detection of infectious diseases, and forensics.
