Astro had planned to drill up to 1000m max on 3-4 holes. They elected to stop drilling after 501.2m because they were satisfied having enough sample from the 3 tightly clustered targets on one of the claim blocks within the 4,500 sq Km property. This drilling was carried out using a 6" core. This diameter of core would produce quite a sufficient amount of sample in a rather short period of time. The Core has been split, logged and a portion provided to Caldera. Caldera will have this core undergo petrological examination. Astro will also be carrying out their own analysis of the core. I believe that there is a joint venture meeting between the two companies in the next 2 wks. This is of particular interest date wise as July 22 happens to be the end of the due diligence period.
Lets keep things in perspective, Astro drilled 3 short holes on one claim block (E1890) that Caldera has only ever scratched the surface.E 1890 is at least 60-70kms from E 1936 where 6,000m of RC drilling Confirmed the presence of kimberlite as well as the recovery of two macro diamonds and a host of G9's and 10's. I personally dont feel that the potential of the property can be fully understood by drilling 3 shallow holes. A million bucks in drilling & exploration by Astro is necessary i feel to even begin to get a firmer handle of the complex geology. If you dont have map of the Abminga Project, breeze by the web site at www.calderares.com. There are some interesting pitures of the property as well.

Lets keep everything we've got crossed in high hopes that they like what they see. The market has seemed to finally firm up as well.
House 2, Dominion Securities has become rather keen to Caldera picking up around 70,000 of the 100 odd that traded this week. It really is a shame that no one ut there is showing a little more support for this deal. It has all the pieces in place it seems and soon we hope a very enthusiatic partner. Astro also has a web site at www.ausgold.com
