Gale, Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you, but that has always been JD's position in the three years I've subscribed to his newsletter. I believe in that context he's speaking of red chip stocks, and direct China corporations, many of which do not have proper accounting procedures. As I understand it, JD's position on investing in China is to buy stocks of world wide giants that are expanding into the Chinese market, such as Ericsson, Phillips, Citicorp, Glaxo/Rhone Poulenc/Novartis, Hong Kong Telecom, and CP Pokphand (which is a Thai company).
