Tonight I've seen many things on this thread and a few others that really irk me. Enough so that I feel compelled to state my position on these issues publicly.

First off, I just permanently banned the accounts of 3 people who took it upon themselves to post what they claim is the home address and phone number of a fellow member. And someone who stated they were going to post that info every morning just got a 14-day suspension.

And each further occurrence of that information is going to result in account termination. Period.

Invasion of the privacy of our members is something that simply will not be tolerated, and my reaction will always be extreme.

Those who were suspended or terminated for that need not even try appealing the decision for at least 14 days. Not only is such behaviour unconscionable, it is a blatant violation of the Terms of Use. And I've gone on record before stating just how seriously we take this matter. It quite simply is not allowed.

Very interesting when that particular violation is committed by those obviously using an alias. Wonder how they'd feel if what they did to another user had been done to them.

On another matter, I've seen many personal attacks on this thread.

I'm going to read all of the messages that were posted to this thread today and take appropriate action as needed. If my initial browse was any indication, there won't be many people posting here tomorrow. It looks like there has been a complete free-for-all in here, with some people choosing to personally attack anyone who disagrees with them.

That is inappropriate and will be dealt with.

The fact that we have, and enforce, our Terms of Use is a major part of what separates us from so many other venues. Those who are unable to use this site in a civil manner in compliance with the letter and spirit of the Terms of Use may feel free to avail themselves of another site whose rules, or lack thereof, is more to their liking.
