More on tips & strategies...I have a few stocks that I'll be watching next week that are unpublished anywhere. These stocks will be reporting earnings and have been screened for earnings velocity (increases eps compared to same quarter 1 year ago) and acceleration (increase in eps compared to last quarter).. increase in revenue, sales, etc. The scans I run are very stringent and include technical and fundamental filters. I look for stocks in the top 98th percentile for all stocks for 'earnings plays'. The technical charts are in a 'relatively' good position. For earnings plays I tend to concentrate more on fundamental analysis and use technical analysis to determine entry/exit points.
July 14: STLY, HUF, SCTC,ADTN July 15: ONE, ELN,XO,PVN,PFE July 16: CATP,TXI,MNMD July 17: ART,LADF
My general 'watch lists' are stocks that follow technical analysis criteria. These are different from the above. They are in a good 'technical' position for a breakout. It helps to have 2 watch lists especially on an 'iffy' day when the market is trading sideways you almost always have recourse to a valid trade.
Some technically poised stocks I'll be watching next week: UCMP, HBOC, CPWR, ORB
Strategies are similar to 'daytrading' strategies.. I use a triple screen method with weekly and 5 minute screens. I use trendlines and look for support and resistance...I buy when price bounces off the support. Volume is probably the most important criteria for me for daytrading or swing trading. I will not enter a stock that has not increased 150% more than 30 day average volume.
