Sepster, In addition to their search engine technology, Inktomi also has a network caching product called "Traffic Server". This product was recently licensed by AOL. It allows WWW pages to be cached on ISP boxes so that every request for a URL by a dial-in (or direct access) customer doesn't need to go out of the box at the ISP to get resolved. This makes downloading pages much faster for the end user. Updates are downloaded periodically by the software to avoid delivering "stale" pages to the users. Although other companies market a similar product (ie. Microsoft's Proxy Server), Inktomi appears to have the best technology. AOL's commitment to their technology was a huge win for them IMO. Check out more on Traffic Server on Inktomi's web site at www.inktomi.com/products/traffic/.

I'm back in at 67. They've shown good strength this week after the surge on Monday, I was expecting more of an immediate pullback from the 70's. I think there is still a good deal of near-term downside risk from here, given that we've added 19 points this week. There is also good upside potential, though, given that INKT announces earnings on Thursday. I'm not looking for the floor to drop out of the internet sector next week, as are many others here on SI. It definitely could happen, as valuations are extremely high. There just seem to be too many people looking for it to happen. This may be a contrary indicator. I could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time!
