Looks like we should buy CUBE for Christmas.

January is sounding the most promising for the stock than I've have personally heard in a while.

New VCD chips with big customers (much of the same) should be announced first or second week of Jan. The numbers for VCD in Q4 are much better than expected. Even the avg. selling price is better that ESS would like you to believe.

DBS: PerfectTV All Cube all the time...

Q4 is already in the bag. I expect more of the same behavior from Cube. Beat the numbers but not a blowout. Carry over reserves for the next quarter. Not sure how the accounting works on this though.

By the end of Feb. DVD chips should be announced (with customers).
Since I heard this I can't help but wonder why all the DVD manufactures are saying systems have been pushed out until "early" next year. Seems Cube had to make second turn of the DVD silicon and should have it in shape for a Feb announcement. Just a coincidence right? Who was the DVD mfg. that said delayed due to software problems?

Then in March or early April we should get our first glimpse at the single chip MPEG2 Codec.
Seems the customers would like to announce at NAB.
Credit: We've heard this from Devious before.
I'm now hearing it from other sources.

New kid on the block: La Vision.
Seems someone want's to make a dirt cheap MPEG2 encoder for the PC (and stuff it into Multimedia kits?) Anyway, I got news that this company was started by someone I'm familiar with.
Then I hear he was spotted talking to the Cube. I don't like the sounds of this....
His name: (Herb Greenberg will love this one) Paul Jain, ex CEO and destroyer of Media Vision.
Hope they send him over to Innovacom.

Disclaimer:
I can't prove any of this. I can't tell you my sources. So believe as much of this as you trust me.
Y'all know I'm pro CUBE.
