If you guys want to talk S&Ls go at it.....Actually in the economic reality of today there really isn't much that is too far off topic. Michael, The S&L debacle was a sad story of inefficiency and stupidity, exposing some weaknesses of our financial system. Billions of taxpayers dollars wasted and I am not sure if our system is much sounder today. It is not too far off topic because of similar crisis exploding around the world. In comparison to Japan, our problem was nothing. The elections are happening Sunday. The polls are showing that the LDP (Hashimoto's party) will not win the majority that they have hoped for and may even be losing seats in the upper house. It is hard to gauge what the new powers to be would push for. Monday may be a very exciting day, so should the weeks ahead. There are lots and lots of money on the sideline. 100+pt DOW days should be the norm. Fasten your seat belts. ici.org Ramsey
