ReDox Technology Acquires Exclusive Option to Purchase Brushless Electric Motor Technology
HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 1998--Emerging Company Report, the nationally syndicated cable television program that profiles emerging-growth companies (http://www.emergingcompany.com), has learned ReDox Technology Corp. (OTC BB:RDOX), recently featured on the television program, has acquired the exclusive rights to purchase outright the M.P.D. Brushless Direct Current Motor Technology.

This award-winning technology has been patented in 16 countries in Europe, Asia and the United States of America. According to ReDox officials, the agreement includes the Brushless Direct Current Motor Technology, the control system, all subsequent patents, patents pending and other registrations, along with all future improvements as they are developed.

ReDox President Richard Szymanski said the new multi-phase, bipolar, brushless DC motor operates as flawlessly when it is submerged in liquid, unprotected by a waterproof cover, as it does in the laboratory. It even continues to operate after a quadrant wedge is excised from its length, revealing a rapidly spinning drive shaft.

The device represents a totally new approach in electric-motor design. It is an extremely flexible power source for a wide range of industries. Its durability makes it perfectly adaptable to subsea and hazardous or destructive environments.

Also, since it is one-and-a-half times more powerful than standard motors of similar size and weight -- and it runs far quieter than existing motors -- it is ideal in homes and offices where noise is a problem.

''Such a motor automatically brings to mind the country's push for an efficient electric car,'' said Szymanski. ''This motor serves that application well, a prototype demonstrated. We should also consider the number of electric motors that lie hidden from view, but not from hearing.

''In autos, there are motors that drive heater fans, electric windows and radio antennas, moon roofs, etc. Around the house, motors open garage doors, power heating and ventilation systems, circulate hot tubs and drive power tools, in addition to their use in the kitchen. All of these can be made smaller, lighter and quieter with our motor.

''Prototypes demonstrate that this motor is a perfect companion product to our batteries,'' Szymanski said. ''Both the motor and our battery represent breakthrough technology in their respective industries, offering features that product designers simply have not had available to them previously.''

Among the company's first projects is a motor for the vast international market where electric bicycles are a way of life. As ReDox batteries come on-line, the company expects them to dramatically affect that market due to their greater energy density, reduced weight and very competitive price.

ReDox batteries serve an immense range of applications, from portable computers to space stations.
