hi jack,

The more I think about it the more I think that Vivus's actions over the last month all seem headed for a buy-out. I am sure they knew their cash situation was starting to suffer months ago. Getting rid of many loyal employees appears to have been their way of insuring that most of them were properly taken care of in terms of keeping them employed and probable severence packages for those that could not find new jobs. Had they done nothing until after a buy-out, then these employees would probably have a pink slip dropped on them in one day. Vivus was denying a buy-out 4 months ago but now they say that they will not rule this possibility out.

A buy-out seems to me a lot more logical than a partnership based on all the recent events. I will let you know if I learn more next week. Keep your powder dry and don't shoot until you see the whites of those shorters eyes.
