Joe, Odd that you should mention those firms. Exxon, known as Standard Oil, then Standard of New Jersey, after Teddy Roosevelt acted like a human instead of a Republican, has had a great balance sheet since way before those cos. hit the wall. The difference is, those cos. make something or provide a service that can be outmoded or replaced. Exxon offers a product that cannot be replaced, to any great degree, and which has a finite supply. Different game.
