Hiram,
I'll agree with you that ADSL has it's problems, my understanding is that the power levels necessary to support the bandwidth on twisted-pair causes a lot of interference on typical buried cable; perhaps others here could clarify this.
I'm not a momentum trader, at least as I understand it, I just follow trends, but not into the stratosphere. I don't think Wavephore's in the "stratosphere" price-wise (nor is HLIT which I follow, too), unlike a lot of internet-related stocks.
A lot of attention is focussed on WaveTop, which I'll be getting as soon as I get my copy of Win98, plus the tuner card, but I think your view of WaveTop is pretty fair, it's not a replacement for your ISP connection, rather it makes RECEIVING selected content much easier, freeing up your phone line for other things. I like the concept a lot, and for about the cost of my copy of Win98 I'll pop in the tuner card, but I am much more interested in Wavephore's existing data broadcasting technology to businesses and their collaboration with Skycache. There's so much focus on WaveTop, and that's fine, but they're into a lot of other areas.
