WORLDBANK: 'EMBEDDED SYSTEMS AND CONTROL LOGIC

A specific and important area of concern as the Year 2000 draws nearer is the question of
embedded computer chips. 25 billion of them are in use, controlling everything from cars
to power plants to elevators to building systems. Some of these chips perform timing
functions, and some are known to use date-dependent logic. Finding out which equipment
is at risk and eliminating the threat to critical systems is an urgent task. The following is a
collection of links to Web sites dealing with this problem.
