Joanne: Sorry I am late in responding. I think CMGI is a long term buy here at a friday close of 65 1/4 - its got too many of private internet companies that can go IPO (including Geocities) that the long term downside is limited.

Zapata (ZAP) has seen the light and has invested in 22 internet companies; I know of only one mutual fund investing in internet companies - Munder - there may be a few more.
I don't think there are any index's which have picked up any internet companies.

I believe long term that long term selected internet picks will be the wave of the future given the lack of mutual funds investing in them; and that no index to my knowledge has picked them up! Anyone having more information is free to enter their take.

My approach or philosophy:
"When in doubt, buy a small number of shares with a discount broker - that way you at least have a position. You will minimize your downside risks, limit your upside potential, but at least have a position - you don't have to have alot of shares if they take off to get a better gain than you can get in the bank's savings account!"
