Dear JDN: Interesting development. Check out TAVA post #20437 and the
discussion that follows. It seems that TAVA's software product simply
inventories the Y2K problem in embedded systems, while PTUS's Y2K
remediation and testing products resolve the problem. Were you aware of this?

According to a poster named CalculatedRisk: "there persists a strong
misunderstanding of embedded systems and TAVA's capabilities on this
thread. Let me make it clear: TAVA ia NOT capable of fixing embedded
systems."

Now, according to Fortune Magazine (April 27,1998) Article: "Industry
Wakes Up to the Year 2000 Menance--Factories were slow to start fixing
software that could cause shutdowns. They face a far more complex job
than the rest of the business," by Gene Bylinsky.

Most of this article talked about TAVA, but there was this snippet about other companies:

"When it's available for manufacturing applications, software can speed the job of finding and fixing year 2000 glitches ... Only a few offer software that can deal with factory problems. Among them are Raytheon Engineers & Constructors, Fluor-Daniel, and Peritus Software Services of Billerica, Mass., as well as the service operations of companies that sell industrial controls, such as Foxboro and Honeywell."
