I'm still cautious on earnings. Etrade has been running a promotion in June to increase transactions. They offered $50 credit if you completed 5 transactions by June 30th - the credit to be paid July 31st. You can read that as they were coming up short on revenues, or they wanted to pump up revenues for a gangbuster release. We'll see.

A few things introduced in Q2, probably won't impact numbers much until the 2H, though they look promising:
1) Professional Edge - BA Rob Stephens research reports
2) Etrade Visa
3) Marketplace

FWIW, I've used ETrade since it's beginning. I only recently transferred my 'very long' account from a full brokerage to Etrade. About 4-5 months ago, I checked out about a dozen online brokerages to see if I should switch before I made the transfer. They all have their tradeoffs, so no one convinced me to leave. I like the services they keep adding, and the plans for more services. I am anxiously awaiting the Destination ETrade launch. Knowing they have all this money in the bank now makes me feel very secure with my decision to stay. I expect good things from Etrade in the future.
