Facts and Figures for Sunday 12 July:

8 - The 15 World Cup Final matches have had 8 different scores.

The most frequent scores are 2-1, 3-1 and 4-2, which occurred 3 times each. A 3-2 score occurred twice, while 1-0, 4-1, 5-2 and 0-0 once each.

8 - Over half of the 15 World Champion teams have won the final with a come back from behind.

The most impressive exploit was by Germany. The Germans were losing 0-2 after 9 minutes in the 1954 match against Hungary, but won 3-2. Germany came from behind also in its 2nd winning final in 1974 (from 0-1 to 2-1 against the Netherlands), while they were leading 1-0 against England in 1966 before losing 2-4.

Czechoslovakia scored first in both the finals played but has always lost (1-2 against Italy in 1934, 1-3 against Brazil in 1962).

Uruguay has won both its titles coming from behind: from 1-2 to 4-2 against Brazil in 1950, down 0-1 to win 2-1 against Brazil in 1950.

Also Brazil has won 2 of its 4 World Cups coming from behind: besides the previously mentioned match against Czechoslovakia, the South Americans conceded the first goal to Sweden in 1958 before winning 5-2.

18 - The minute of the World Cup Final match when most goals have been scored is the 18th, with 3 goals. Helmut Rahn (FRG) in 1954, Geoff Hurst (ENG) in 1966 and Pel‚ (BRA) in 1970 all scored in this minute. The 62 goals of the Finals have been scored in 45 different minutes
