Good morning Larry: Dell's all time high calls for a gentle farewell to all the bears that perished here in the past and two now standing on the tracks trying to flag down the Dell train: alaike.lcc.hawaii.edu Many claim that Dell is 'just another box maker', but I call it a killer stock. Has more moves than Hilo Hatti or Sally Rand... From the NAsdaq top ten for various weeks in Feb, Mar: Dell +9 7/16, msft +8 15/16, intc +6 35/64 Dell +15 7/8, msft +8 Dell + 13 9/16, msft +7 1/8 Dell - 1 3/8, intc -11,sun -4 7/8 ( last week) Egg+ 12 7/8,Yhoo +8 3/8 Dell +7 15/16 It appears to me that these moves, tho somewhat predictable, come 'out of the blue' as Dell does not have spectacular news such as buying companies or new inventions. So I don't trade in Dell, other than to buy calls, but the moves are there and lucrative for those who can handle them. I have started to diversify, now have only 94% in Dell, the other 6 % in Lu,msft, csco, dis, ericy, rcl, mrk, mspg. As a result of meeting JBN at the meeting one year ago, I satrted buying some Dell leaps. Here is what they look like today: 2000 35's cost 14, value 63 2000 70's cost 18, value 44 1999 55's cost 16, value 48 1999 70's cost 11, value 35 2001 100's cost 33, value 37 As with many calls, some of these have been "down" at times like in October or April so its not risk free, but long term gravy. Hope the grandkids spend it wisely(G) Good luck and smooth trading Sig |
