Installed base of GE: Now that I have your attention, I can say that I have no idea of the size of the installed base of GE. From following fibre channel and learning that there will be three companies making GE to FC bridges this year I can only assume it is growing. The only hard statistic I have heard is that MRVC shipped 2,000 ports of GE last year. Does anyone have any additional statistics of actual ports shipped by manufacturer? I would also be interested in impressions of how the GE start ups are doing relative to the major sellers of network gear - all of whom seem to have jumped on the GE bandwagon very early. How does that bode for the start-ups? Just asking, George D.
