I really don't like to reply publicly, as my contributions will almost always be off-topic, but this one needs to be addressed.
It appears the company pressured SI to the point that they were forced to take action.
Personally, I have not heard from the company, nor has anybody else at SI informed me that they've heard from the company. I did read "Echo"'s post, and, while I won't share my personal opinion about it, let me assure you that it in no way influenced my decision to block "Trial Member" access to this forum.
That decision was a result of a complaint from another user (one of the "best" complaints I've ever seen), which made an extremely strong case for blocking trial member access to this thread. I followed the provided links (I love it when people include hyperlinks -- makes my job much easier) and read them, the messages to which they were responding, and the replies to them (to try to get a broader feel for what's happening) and came to the conclusion that this is a thread that would benefit from trial member blocking.
Keep in mind that this "blocking" doesn't apply to new members. Only to non-paying trial members. And when the free trial is over, it will no longer have any effect.
I apologize to any trial members who would've made quality contributions to the thread, as this blocking keeps them out, too. If any lurker or trial member is reading this and still wants to both try out SI and be able to post to this thread, email me at si_admin@techstocks.com about it. I have already made an exception for one person who convinced me he wouldn't harrass the thread, and I'm not averse to making that exception for others.
Regards,
