Duncan, you have misrepresented what evolutionists are saying. There is a big difference between having a common ancestor, with two evolutionary paths branching off, and saying man descended from apes. However, why does that bother everyone so much? We share 98% of ourselves with chimpanzees, for example, and the big apes create art of their own volition, empathize, plan ahead, and use tools. The earth is a vast place, and all of these remains are buried deeply within it. I think more remains will be found which support evolution, and the ones which have been discovered certainly show man as a developing, evolving species.

There is absolutely no credible scientific evidence for a world which was created perfectly in six days several thousand years ago, on the other hand. Certainly if your religious beliefs support that, I think that's great for you. But please don't attempt to force the public schools to teach that to my child, because it is total bunk.

The Wall Street Journal has one aim--to protect the interests of big business, and protect the fortunes of the wealthy. It is in no way objective journalism of any kind, or a responsible publication, and like the IBD, is extremely right wing and distorted. Where do you get off calling any politician who is concerned that global warming is caused by humans "anti-intellectual?" I think people who at this point are not at least concerned that it might be--explain why the last few years have been the warmest since the 1400's, for example, and we are experiencing disastrous weather changes--are the ones who seem brain dead.

A scientist is a scientist. Scientists look at hard evidence and see what they think it might mean. They are for the most part not very emotional, and whether every one of them has exactly the same background on this subject is not crucial to me. Eventually almost every scientist on earth will come to the same conclusion, and those who have a financial interest in proving global warming wrong will still attack all those who are concerned. I think that argument is pathetic, and immoral.
