A billion connected pc's ...
Hi Jacques. What clues do have you as to who can make a profit in this low price segment (which in my opinion, has not yet even REALLY begun)? Maybe this link can help out some:
biz.yahoo.com

The above is for a sub $200 reference design that uses MediaGx processor and DiskOnChip 2000 (flash disk). This type of system relies on (for now!) a Thin Operating System such as Windows CE which I think will become a major force (given a few revisions :) )not only because of ease-of-use but because of its price (I can't continue paying $80+ for '98 when it costs less then $400 for the rest of the system).
Some will joke that coming from NSM it cannot make a profit. For those people, I would tell them to keep holding on to their intc (You will get a bigger joke later on!) The key to opening new markets is to sell products that intc doesn't have. Integration will be known as where intc screwed up. Does anyone know of IDT's efforts in this field. I know ST & IBM are joining together also. I still view NSM as the leader in this field.

For those, that think the "high end" will be their savior, I seem to remember that at one point in time, the most powerful computer in the world ran on a lot (I believe 10,000) of Pentiums....
