Scientific American and other magazines of similar ilk has been publishing these kind of articles every 5 years for the last 100 years!! 10 years is a long time for the technology to improve methods of discovery & recovery, assuming that oil is still a commodity that anyone uses. A headline from a New York newspaper in the 1890's: "World to go Dark; Whale Blubber in Short Supply". JMHO
