Gary: You know as well as I, people call companies, and the companies tell them news should be out, by such and such a date.
I think people get excited, and then " news may be out" becomes " news should be out", becomes "news will be out". (I think that's human nature) I also agree that this pisses people off. LOL
So far, I have seen only a problem with timing. I don't think the IR can really tell people exactly what is going to be in a news release before it's out, I think they may get in trouble for that?
I have also been in contact with the IR people. I match what I hear with what people post, and see for myself how accurate the person is.
I am not flaming you, but you need to call the IR people, that is what they are getting paid for, no?
BTW, you say posting things that have come to pass isn't hype. Well, I agree, but posting things that don't come to pass isn't necessarily hype, IMO. (obviously, sometimes it is) It may just be that the company thought something would occur, but it just didn't work out.
I really don't think John is just making things up, do you?
