"Hey Emile, you going to buy the book? Surely you would want to know if some of your beliefs are based on made up stories. Does anybody else out there care that they have been duped?"
Why should I buy a book from the Jesus Seminar? Their information is only a rehash of the material contained in Jewish The Toledot Jeshua(The hisory of Jesus contained in the antichristian Babylonian Talmud.) For those unfamiliar with the Babylonian Talmud history of Jesus, let me give you a brief summary. The Jews who rejected Jesus and formed the new religion of Modern Judaism recorded their views about Jesus in the Babylonian Talmud. This account is highly distored and prejudiced against Jesus, but is, neverthless, the classic history of Jesus used in rabbinical formation. The spirit of the Jesus Seminar is taken from the Toledot Jeshua and is based on hearsay evidence and distorted testimony collected many centuries after the historical events connected to Jesus's life.
The principles of modern scholarship and judicial proceedings depend heavily upon first hand or eyewitness accounts to substantiate the veracity of an event. The Life of Jesus--his miracles, his Words, his Crucifixion, and his Resurrection---was observed and experienced by thousands of eyewitnesses. The Gospel accounts of Jesus's life and Resurrection were eyewitness accounts. Many of these witnesses prefered to die horrible deaths rather than deny their testimony.
The Gospel accounts are eyewitness accounts while The Jesus Seminar and the Babylonian Talmud are mosttly hearsay and prejudiced accounts collected many centuries after the events. The entire foundation of modern antichrist Judaism depends on these false hearsay accounts for its very existence.
Del, you have simply chosen one religiou view over another. You have simply chosen modern Judaism false and antichrist view over Christianity historically sound and spiritually accurate view. That is ok and it is your choice. I dont think you fully realize just how religious your view really are.
You and others, Del, have chosen these hearsay accounts of prejudiced and hearsay witnesses recorded centuries after the events rather than the eyewitness accounts of contemporary Jewish Christian observers who had actually seen and heard the things of which they testified. These Christian Jewish witnesses had, in a worldly sense, everything to loose and nothing to gain by holding to their eyewitness accounts. Most of the early Jewish Christian eyewitnesses prefered to be killed rather than recant their testimony.
These eyewitness accounts have been preserved in Gospels and other writings contained in the New Testament. It is not a very rational decision to choose hearsay evidence over eyewitness evidence. |
