Savant:

I see that you like number 4.
Some cultures find that number an omen...includes the number 13 >> 1+3=4
Here is a little write up on numerology (the study of numbers).

What is Numerology?
by "PENDE"

'NUMEROLOGY' The ancient science of numbers, revealed by 'Pythagoras' the Greek philosopher, who established a university in 532 BC, or those who sought to free the mind of ignorance and discover the meaning of life and love. It was the worlds first co-educational institution and no distinction was made against race, colour, sex or creed. (History repeats itself - as we move once again to find this acceptance).

A commitment to the arcane learning was all that was required to become a student.

*All that is required of you to understand yourself and those around you is the desire to do so and the basic ability to add and subtract.

That's your starting point! And if you went no further into the metaphysical side of numerology you would still have a good account of the person in view. We start with the numbers of the birthdate. These numbers cannot be altered as a name can, so this number is the 'ruling' or 'life' number and has the main influence over you throughout your life.

To arrive at your 'ruling' or 'life' number, add all the single digits together. - Thus, if you were born on 20-1-1946, you add them like so... 2+ 0 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 4 + 6 which adds to 23... Then reduce it to a single digit - 2 + 3 = 5: So this persons 'life number' is 5. When calculating your life number you don't count the 0. eg: the 20 becomes a 2. Here is another example ... 16-3-1979 ... it goes like this 1 + 6 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 7 + 9 = 36 ... which reduces to 3 + 6 = 9. This person has a '9' life number.

The only time we don't reduce to a single digit is if our birth date adds to the number 11, 22 or 33. These numbers are referred to as master numbers (don't get on an ego trip if you are one of these as they don't necessarily mean what they imply.) We have the numbers 1 to 9 and then the three master numbers, which gives us 12 in all. We view the zero in a birth date as a mystical symbol rather than a number. Those of you with one or more zeros in your birth date have an 'inbuilt' spirituality. This will help you to understand life's deeper purpose much earlier than those without a zero.

Your 'life' number brings the experiences to you that you have 'chosen' this time around. I think it makes life's little ups and downs more bearable if we remind ourselves of this fact every now and
then; and this important number draws particular lessons - people and situations to you, to learn from and deal with. Each and every number we have in our birth date and name, emanates a vibration that will and does affect us throughout this life and can also carry over from a past life.

The next most important number is the first initial of your Christian name. We will call this your 'key' name initial. It is the second most powerful influence after the birth date.

To find your 'key' name initial you place the letters of the alphabet under the numbers from 1-9, like so:

So if your name is 'John' your key name initial is a number 1, or if your name is 'Mary' your key name initial would be a number 4. If for example you are called a different name than you were christened ... 'Edward' and you call yourself 'Ted', then we look to the name you are called as the major influence at this time ... but your other names also influence you at different stages. Sometimes you see some celebrities changing their names to draw a new 'influence' or 'vibration' to themselves. But remember to gain something you lose something else.

I'm not going into very complicated explanations - I would like to keep it as simple as possible so you can apply these principles in your everyday life with one another. I will suggest further reading
for you if you want to delve deeper. Our life moves in 9 year cycles and you will find the major changes happen at these.

You are given your strengths and weaknesses with the date and name - but environmental and hereditary influences can and do sometimes have a very strong pull on you and mask many abilities, strengths and weaknesses.

Discovering what your unique combination of numbers mean is the first step towards becoming your own person and taking your power back. You will understand what holds you back - or what drives you on and with that understanding comes acceptance and compassion towards others because each one of us is at a different stage in our unfoldment.

A whole new world of wisdom awaits you. The unravelling of life's complexities, 'karmic' implications in this life and how you can disconnect from it. You will find you don't have to depend on others for your happiness and stability - you become 'the victor' not 'the victim'. Trust your own intuition , your 'inner voice', by understanding yourself you know your worth regardless of outside
influences. You will know your weaknesses and you will be able to overcome them to find your strength.

Know you are not alone in the world. God and the universe support you with love; and there are many in spirit who help us. Take the 'leap of faith' and act on your 'inner knowing' that so often prompts us - and which we so often ignore in favour of another's influence or our own analytical mind talks us out of what we should have done. If you take the risk you will not look back - you will rise above the confusion and chaos of the world and the real you will emerge. Take responsibility for yourself and where you are and you will indeed begin a new existence and never look back.

For those who would like further reading on numerology, I would recommend Dr. David Phillip's book "Discover the Inner Self." It is easy to grasp and would be an excellent introduction to you.
