Flint, Defining todays markets with 60's thinking is unrealistic - they thought the DOW at 1000 was incredible - a terrific income was $25,000 per year - long term bonds were around 3% - utilities were considered a good investment for growth - a great house was $20,000 - as to defining Value or Growth every market writer adds their own nuance to the definition - there is no hard definition for either - but look at the long term (5 to 10 years)performance of Value and Growth mutual fund managers they look a like - each style will perform better than the other in certain market cycles - just like the performance of large cap vs mid cap vs small cap - they all have their day - G
