Yes the spread on GPIP is sickening
Perhaps it is because the MM's are so short of shares they don't want to attract buyers

I do know, however, when there is buying on GPIP I have seen the bid get raised fairly quickly to reflect the movement up on the ask

one person on this thread said they even saw the bid raised on a SELL.

The CEO said "when the news comes out" this ugly spread will change.
We shall see I suppose.
I have not spoken to the CEO recently, and I do not plan on calling him anytime soon. The few times he returned my calls, I was not available, and when he said he'd call me back again, he didn't. I have no idea if he is on the road anymore, or when this "news" will come out. I just know that since news did not come out when he originally promised, I have no intention of buying GPIP until I see the news, and I will re evaluate the impact this news has on the ridiculous spread, and see if it tightens up.

You made me laugh when you said you want to become a MM :)
MM's seem to be the people who make the most money on gambling on OTC BB stocks. Good luck! I think if you put in the words market maker on SI in a people profile search, you might pull up some people on SI who are MM's and maybe they can tell you how to "apply" :)
I have no idea, nor do I personally know any.
