Nice try!

This is against SEC regulations. Stock options for new employees have to be pegged at current market valuations - within a 30 day window - of the start of employment.

Just think what those lucky, existing AMD employees with option strike prices set at $48 would think if the newbies walk in with $7.50 option prices.

Of course, options can be reset at a later date - with a corresponding extension of the vesting time. Usually, Sanders reserves this perk for himself and his very close "yes-men".
