I agree Match. First off I thought it was smart to wait until full encoding so that you didn't have a consumer nightmare later with people returning V-chip decoders because it didn't block out all channels.

Now that PG has gambled by selling its decoders, before complete encoding, through one distributor in ONE city (please someone are they in multiple cities, country wide??) things are different. It is of course 100 times easier to get air time on U.S. networks if you are in fact an American company... hence why TVL is getting schwacked (apparently) everytime they try some PR stuff, i.e: WSJ ad flop. I would hope that TVL offers boxes very soon or risk being an "also ran" in the minds of the consumer. Infomercials as you suggest would be a damn good idea. I have a feeling Grunberg will slit his wrists before he goes lowbrow like that, especially with a 4 million advertising budget!

They need to do "paid announcements" and hit it every night and weekends during the day for a few weeks and time this with when they are ready to SELL those damn decoders.

They have to really drum into the consumers head that A) they are cheaper and B) if ratings change they don't need a new decoder!

IF you look at their product the "hide" feature, using the infra-red sensor, is a great idea. No bulky decoder sitting on your TV... WHAT A GREAT IDEA! Now lets see them sell the bloody things.

Cheers and great couple a posts people... back to business I hope.

Graham

P.S. no sooner had I typed that salutation line, I got this sneaky feeling it won't take long before we get some more "SCAM" posts. Oh well, enjoy the moments of germane banter and clarity.
