Ian, you should read my prior posts for my logic. I also think that
the semi sector is dead for 2-4 quarters as far as fab expansion
and major equipment purchases. The capitulation I was referring to
was from AMAT finally throwing in the towel and admitting that things
really suck. That took AMAT from Oct 97 until now to admit. They are
the last and biggest semi mfg'r to suddenly gain "foresight" about
their customers' condition. Up until now they seem to have been rather "short sighted" on industry business conditions and have played
their cards close to their vest so no one else could see their hand.
I'd say their bluff failed and they have been called, unfortunately
they are only holding a pair of dueces. Those of us that "called"
them will ultimately win this hand. I feel pretty good I've got
an aces over "Full House", now it is my turn to wager, the only issue
is when?? $23 is a nice round number and I will continue "calling" as
the price drops, I will stick with this next hand as long as it takes
8^)

Your bet!!
