Well Christine, at least you finally admit it is a religios cause with those Greenpeace zealots.:-)
And just like any religios cause, it has some facts and some things which have to be taken on faith. You're global warming/Global freezing environmental catastrophy scenario's are exactly that. Faith. Not substantiated by ANY real scientific imperical evidence. But based near totally on your religios "social realities".
Of course I'm concerned by pollution harming the environment. Just because someone doesn't subscribe to your doom and gloom scenarios, doesn't mean that they have no concerns for the environment.
My belief's regarding the environment have been expoused on this forum countless times. Balance is the key! Policies and laws which balance the needs of industry, the environment and personal freedoms. The Greenpeace mentality doesn't believe in balances.
They fail to realize that what really creates clean and healthy environments is a society built on the strong economic health of it's citizenry. To them the poorer we are the better. That way we won't drive those horrific cars, boats, planes, and yes, personal watercraft, because we won't be able to afford the sky high taxes to operate them.
Choking off a people's personal freedoms under the banner of creating a "perfect" environment (as if there is one) is a hideous form of bondage. America was founded on the principles of FREEDOM, every year more and more Americans are getting sucked into this Greenpeace notion that we can't use the environment for a good time and recreation. We should just enjoy it from a distant television or computer screen.
I read every single one of those links regarding Personal watercraft. If anything, those articles pointed out how pathetically weak the Greenpeace arguments are toward banning them.
I'm not even going to try and find any articles from the other point of view. It should be obvious to anyone who has ever ridden a personal watercraft that the Greenpeace, anti family, anti children movement hasn't got a clue what a "good time" is and what it means.
And of course the "radical left wing" politicians haven't got the guts to put it up for a state wide vote.
Sound familiar?
